To the others who are getting these calls im not a professional but I'm looking into it I got a call from them and it sounded like static on my answering machine but at the same time it sounded like machine gun fire
We had the silence upon answering bit, too. Indicative of robo dialers. When we called the number back (202 760 4537) a recording advised us to press "9" to be placed on a do not call list. Did that. Didn't work, we still are getting their annoying calls.
I live in Ashland, Wisconsin (Representative Sean Duffy's district). February 28th, 2014, at 4:12 p.m., I received a call from 202-760-4537. The caller said he was conducting research and wanted to ask me a few questions. I asked him who he was working for and he evaded my questions. I asked repeatedly and he finally said he was working for "Indie Surveys," which he described as a "national research firm." I asked who had hired them to conduct this research and he said that he did not know. I told him I would answer his questions, but that after I answered his questions, I would like more information about who was funding the research. The research questions were very Push-Poll like and seemed to be pro Sean Duffy. Once the survey ended, I asked again for more information about Indie Surveys. They put me on hold for a long time and finally a "manager" named "Christina" got on the line. I asked her where Indie Surveys was located and let her know that I did not find any presence for the company on an Internet Search. She said they were located "somewhere outside of Chicago," but would not give me a specific town. She refused to give me a phone number or a mailing address. When pushed, she put me back on hold. After several minutes, she got back on the phone and gave me a phone number she said was "customer service for Indie Surveys." I hung up and tried calling the number, which was actually the same number that showed up on my phone when they called me for the poll, but got only a computerized answering service that identified itself as "campaign headquarters" (but did not say for which campaign) and asked me to push a key if I would like to be added to the mailing list. This is in violation of WisconsinGAB 1.655(2)(b)
2/28/14 called today four times already at 12:50 pm, 4:56 pm, 6:39 pm, 7:21 pm, 7:53 pm. I'm never pick up and they never leave a message. I'm sure they will call at least another two more times, before 9:00 pm. So sick of these losers calling night after night.
