I have received 2 calls from this number alone in an hour today July 24th. If you call the number back it says they are the Internal Revenue Service. Obviously it's a scam. Don't answer your phone if this number pops up and definitely do not leave them a message. I called from a landline to see who it was

This phone number has called my home several times even with me telling him to take me off his calling list. He did not give a name but spoke with a foreign accent and was extremely rude and said a Sherriff would be sent to my house in the next few hours to serve us papers. Two hours later and no sherriff. I tried calling the number back after looking at these comments but no one picked up. I would like to know how these degenerates are getting our numbers. If he calls back I will follow up.

They call you and threaten you but if you let them know that you know its a scam, they hang up and never call again. In my case they never picked up my calls again when i wanted to curse them out.
The IRS does not do this, they send certified mails in cases where you owe money, they don't have random people calling to threaten. The best thing is to block the number or call the IRS and they take complaints for fraud #'s and file a case. Its the best thing to do to get rid of this problem.

Blatant criminals asking for money to settle IRS debts! The victim had already paid them $2000 by MONEYPAK but they still want more. Today they actually masked the call as from our local police station and asked to speak to the victim again. When I told the Indian-accent male caller that the person he wanted is not around, he said, "I'm calling you from XX's sheriff office, we have an arrest warrant on [so-and-so]. we are going to arrest him. Tell him to call Michael Obonell at 202-241-6439 to settle the IRS debt". I immediately called our police to tell them what happened. Let's hope the police catch them as soon as possible. Meanwhile, EXERCISE CAUTION, NEVER ACT ALONE! ALWAYS VERIFY WITH YOUR LOCAL POLICE AND IRS.

received a call from eric foster, he left a message called back. same scam, he said i owed money to the irs. it was not a mistake, but actual fraud. said they tried to deliver documentation to my home but it required a signature, i was not there, so they took it to the next level and in order to avoid arrest, apparently there was a warrant out for me, i had to go to a place where i could obtain government certified vouchers (bonds). he gave me the address of a dollar store that sold these. he asked for my cell phone number so he could call me back while i was en route getting these bonds. i did not give it to him. i did say i wanted to contact my attorney or get some kind of documentation from him. he said that in order to resolve this i had to send him $2568, and he gave breakdowns of how the bonds were to be issued two 1000's one 500, one 68. i told him i could not stay on my land line with him and would not give my cell number. he then said that the sherrif's office would be at my home in 45 minutes to arrest me. during the phone conversation he told me that it was being recorded and that local law enforcement, the irs, immigration service were all on the call witnessing the call.eventually i was firm and said i would not do anything else at which time he said 'good luck to you' and hung up.
i went to my local police department and they confirmed there were no outstanding warrants for my arrest and concluded this was a scam.

We received three messages in a row. Two of them stated I needed to call or have my attorney of record call officer Eric Foster and if I did not call there could be serious consequences and all he can do is wish me luck. The last message was the same but specifically called for our daughter and it was an officer Shaw White. Both men had heavy accents and stated this was an IRS matter.
Reported from Hampton, Georgia.

This man with an accent called three times today and left two identical messages saying “the issue at hand is extremely time sensitive.” He said he is Officer Erin (?) Foster from the Internal Revenue Service Department. If I or my “attorney of record” don’t call him back, he threatened “then the only thing I can do is wish you luck as the situation unfolds on you.”
Reported from New York City, New York.

Received same harassing call asking to call this number back and name Eric Foster too. Also threatened "serious consequences" and wished us "good luck" if we don't call back ... is likely a scam ... see IRS link at http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/Beware-of-Fake-IRS-Emails-and-Phone-Calls
