I received a call from this number this morning. I, too, have been looking for work online. When I answered the phone there was no one on the line. When I called back there was nothing either.

Received call from number. They called but did not leave message. Returned the call and they answered the call as the college bound network. I have been searching for work on line and some of the job boards are nothing but fake adds to get your info. When they started wanted personal info I bowed out of the call.

Often telemarketers use similar phone numbers to make their calls so checking phone numbers around 207-517-0016 can help determine who is calling.
207-517-0036: Called on 3 May 2014 at 8:01 PM PST; let ring not even a full ring, then hung-up.

Such as this, when it happens as I've just described, is nearly always a seller of phone lists for robo-calling machines that is robo-calling through its list to see which numbers will ring, and which have been disconnected, in preparation for selling it to someone. Often, a few days after a call that behaves as I've just described, one will receive a call from whomever actually bought the list.

It could also be a buyer of such a list, checking numbers immediately after purchasing said list, so that it can get the seller to refund money for the bad numbers.

Also, remember that if you have a cell phone which has, in it, the ability to block a number; and if you have already blocked the number that called, then a partial ring will sometimes sneak through before the phone is able to stop the call and block the number.

In another forum which deals with trying to figure out who's calling from numbers like this, several posters said it was a telemarketer from a company that sells environmental products.

In any of those cases, though, if the number being called is on the US's "DO-NOT-CALL" list, then they're violating the law by robo-calling (at all, in some states) numbers without first running them against the DO-NOT-CALL database, as is required of them, by law.

Hope that helps.
